This course explores intersections between everyday “normal” states of mind/experience and “extraordinary” states of mind/experience. By reading and discussing selected prose and poetry, the course considers the ways in which writers understand and define the concept of “real” and the ways in which this concept is continuously challenged and redefined.Offered: Fall.
