Accreditation
John Carroll University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The graduate and undergraduate business programs offered by the Boler College of Business are accredited by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. In addition, the Department of Accountancy’s programs are accredited separately by AACSB. The University’s programs in Education are approved by the Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education and accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for the preparation of Early Childhood (EC), Middle Childhood (MC), and Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) school teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and principals. Programs in chemistry are approved by the American Chemical Society. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the School Counseling Programs are accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). John Carroll University has been approved by Ohio to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of post-secondary distance education.
