Course Description

Examines 10 to 12 notable trials from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Analyzes individual cases, but also larger issues that attracted attention to each trial. Issues considered include not only what makes a trial “fair” but also freedom of thought, freedom of religion, slavery, “revolutionary justice,” and genocide. Formerly: HS 215.Equivalent to: HS 215.
