HUM: VIETNAM WAR

The course examines the origins, conduct and consequences of the American Phase of the Vietnam War. The period 1945-1975 will be viewed from the perspective of the United States, the North Vietnamese and the South Vietnamese. The course theme is based on a question that still puzzles and even haunts many people today: "How did the United States win every major battle on and over Vietnam and yet lose the war?"
