Course Description

Examination of social issues impacting Latina/o communities (Chicanas/os, Mexican-Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Central Americans) within the U.S., abroad, and in this emerging transnational space. Topics include ethnic movements, immigration, identity construction, borderlands, labor, education, gender, and language policies.Prerequisites: EN 125 (or equivalent) and one SC course.
