Prerequisites: CH 141-144 (or 151, 153); corequisites: CH 223-224. Three hours of lecture per week. Theoretical and descriptive treatment of the structure and reactions of the representative classes of aliphatic organic compounds. Naming of organic molecules; reactions and preparations of alkane, alkene, alkynes; stereochemistry; carbocation theory; writing mechanisms; nucleophilic substitution, elimination, electrophilic addition, oxidation and reduction reactions.Offered: Fall
