ISSUES IN SPORTS JOURNALISM

Covers major issues in the field; sharpens student writing through numerous short assignments; and meets with high-level practitioners in the field. The seminar style and a limitation to ten students is meant to encourage vigorous class discussion and to allow for considerable individual attention and feedback. The virtual format works well because many guests are from out of the area, and the course would be unaffected by whatever developments occur with the pandemic. Students will leave the class with a broad-based understanding of sports journalism, the ability to write in a clear and cogent fashion, and numerous contacts in the field.
