Course Description
Taught in German. Explores the history and culture of German-speaking countries 1945-2000 through popular-cultural products such as film, music, visual arts, and texts. Themes include post-WWII reconstruction and cultural processing, GDR life and culture, student movements, the German Autumn, and Reunification. Focus on improving grammatical accuracy, expanding learners’ communication skills to the intermediate-high/advanced-low level.Prerequisite: GR 201 or equivalent or demonstrable intermediate-mid proficiency.
