Course Description
Management of the new product development process from idea generation to the introduction and management of the product line. Topics covered include creative thinking, concept development and testing, business analysis, new product and program strategy, product design and development, product testing, demand estimation, new product response models, and budgeting. Emphasis is on the role of the product manager, possibly including perspectives from a manufacturing firm, a marketing organization with no in-house manufacturing, and a service provider.ElectivePrerequisite: MK 551 or MB 574 or waiver.
