Course Description
Explores how the Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—are addressing the contemporary ecological crisis. Issues of eco-justice are approached through the interplay between faith, scholarship, and activism. Responses are evaluated using the principle of the common good, assessing potential impact on the most vulnerable members of the global community. Topics include eco-theology, eco-feminism, globalization, migration, violence against women and children, food security, water scarcity, loss of biodiversity, and climate change. Forms a Core Link with SC 290 Environmental Sociology.Prerequisite: EN 125 or equivalent. Corequisite: SC 290.
