Course Description

Introduction to Augustine of Hippo (CE 354-431), a magisterial figure in the history of Christian thought who remains significant for contemporary Christianity. Topics include Augustine’s views of early church and state, marriage and sexuality, original sin, and freedom of the will. Does not satisfy the Jesuit Heritage TRS Core requirement. Prerequisites: TRS Majors, TRS Minors, Graduate Students (MA or Certificate), or those with permission from Department Chair.
